uninvited guests

You know us, there are animals scattered all over the lawn, but this one had everyone scattering.

He sat aloft the little guava tree, which swayed under the burden, munching guavas with an air of nonchalance- so far so good.

Until we lost sight of him, only to see him exiting our cottage, pear in one hand and newly bought ciabatta bread in the other.

Pale, speechless children inside......didn't he know I had to go to three shops to find that ciabatta- how rude!

  1. Oh my...and I thought the endless stream of deer munching on my flowers, the wild turkeys, ducks, and foxes were quite the variety. Clearly wrong; he/she? seems to have a very sophisticated palate!

    1. Aaah Amelia I just saw your visitor- swop?!

Not too sophisticated as before he raids the houses, he raids the bins- ugghh, but you're right, as next to the ciabatta was a normal sliced wholewheat supermarket loaf- and he chose the ciabatta!

    1. Very Marie- the worst is he's not scared, the gardeners tried frightening him off last Thursday (garbage day) but he wouldn't budge!

and you know our little cottage, him just walking in there puts him about 30 cm away from you!

    1. Jane- in retrospect it was quite funny, my husband rushed into the house shouting if the kids were okay- we just heard this nervous, bordering on hysterical little giggle from our pale faced daughter, who was alerted by the cat flying out the window and our son completely unaware of the drama, eyes glued to his laptop with his headphones!
