Rescued flowers

It's gusting and the rain is pelting down, I donned my wellies, clutched my hot water bottle tightly and ran to rescue the few brave flowers that were in the garden.

I think I was too late for the narcissus, wilted and drooping sadly, but the roses still looked sprightly.

So I'm joining our friend Jane's flowers in the house party with my scented offerings, including my new favourite, the tuberose, (thank you to my clever sister who patiently identifies random pictures of plants and flowers that I'm constantly sending via cell phone) - their scent fills the lounge and makes me happy.

  1. I think you get the FITH award of the month, a floral crown. No one else had to brave the elements to join in this month.

I love the scent of tuberose.....tho a little goes a long way.

Wear your title proudly. And thanks for joining in.

    xo Jane

  2. Are narcissus really in bloom now? So strange. I suppose they think they are in the Mediterranean. Do you know that field- have I asked you before? - between Bishopscourt and Kirstenbosch, past the old stone houses, where they grow under old oak trees? Are they still there?

    1. They were the first brave two that surfaced, the others look a few weeks behind.

I know that field, I have a client in the surrounds and the first time I delivered I couldn't believe how beautiful it is down there- going that way tomorrow, will see if they are still growing and take a pic for you x
